The Purpose of School

I believe that the purpose of school is to gain as much knowledge as possible, educationally and socially. Education is one of the most important keys to success and it is the basis to opening several doors in the future. Receiving a proper education is a series of corner stones leading up to the future and what life may behold. Valuing education and school is a necessity, not only for learning purposes, but for learning experiences as well. Attending school comes with social experiences and making new relationships. These experiences are once in a lifetime and are very effective when defining who you are. Overall, I think the purpose of school is to learn and education oneself and I also believe it is as process of discovering who you are as an individual.

Education is the foundation to everything in life. In most cases, without education there are not many possibilities for a promising future. High school is a series of learning various subjects and facts to have a broad view on the world and how it works. Though college is much more structured and precise when it comes to future job positions. From my own experience, I have learned more in my three years of college so far then what I have learned in my past grade school days. I hope to one day be a physical educator, and through the courses offered to me at SUNY Cortland, I have acquired so much knowledge about the subject and how to be the best teacher that I can be. I believe the purpose of school is to prepare you for the real world and to create opportunities to be successful.

I am a firm believer that education is extremely important in school, though I also believe the learning experiences and social relationships have a tremendous effect. Schools do not only provide lessons on subjects, school covers lessons that individuals go through on a daily basis. These life lessons are a mixture of experiences that mold individuals into who they are and who they want to be. I have learned so much through school such as the type of person I want to be when I am older, I have learned respect for my teachers, peers, and for myself, and I have also learned the importance and value of living life in itself. School is a great person to be unique and try new things. School allows anyone to find who they are and what they are most passionate through classes and through social interactions. The purpose of school is to receive the best education one can, though I also believe the purpose of school is be true to your life and learn from life’s experiences.
